Charleston fishing report 4/15/15

Inshore report

Lots of Redfish are being caught near structure and ditches by the marsh on either side of low tide. Live shrimp has been working the best if you can get it. The menhaden have moved in the harbor along with bull red fish and a variety of sharks. Live and cut menhaden is working good for these fish. Nice trout are being caught using silver dollar size menhaden under popping corks on either side of high tide.

Offshore report

Bottom fishing continues to be productive with limits of large black bass and vermilion snapper being caught fast. Big trigger fish are also plentiful in 100′ of water. We are also catching huge red snapper, however those are catch and release only. Further out in the gulf stream the dolphin bite is starting to pick up along with the wahoo as well. Trolling with balleyhoo along temperature breaks is the key.
